Campus Safety

Closed Campus Policy

Once the school day begins, access to the building is limited. What that means for drop-offs during the school day.

A message from BASIS Plano School

Safety and security come first

BASIS Plano is reminding families of its Closed Campus Policy, and that the protocol will be strictly enforced from now on.

The school recognises that adjustments to campus routines can feel inconvenient or restrictive. Every part of this policy is rooted in a single priority: the safety and security of your children.

What a “closed campus” means

Once the school day begins, access to the building is strictly limited, and routine drop-offs during instructional hours are not permitted.

What the front office can and cannot accept

To minimise disruption to learning and to limit unnecessary access to the building, the front office cannot take in forgotten everyday items.

Not permitted — everyday items

  • Lunches
  • Outside food and delivery orders — McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, UberEats, DoorDash and the like
  • Homework, books or school supplies
  • Musical instruments
  • PE sneakers or extra shoes

Permitted — health and emergencies

Drop-offs and entry are reserved for essential, health or emergent needs:

  • Prescription medication
  • Eyeglasses
  • Other critical, emergent situations
Anything else needs approval first

Any non-standard exception must be explicitly approved by the Campus Leadership Team or the Health Coordinator.

If your student forgets their lunch

No student goes hungry at school. If your student leaves their lunch at home, please do not bring food to the front office.

Order a school meal for that day through your school lunch account instead. If you have not set that account up yet, it is worth doing now — then it is ready the first time a lunch box stays on the kitchen counter.

Not sure how to set one up? Step-by-step sign-up instructions are on the Booster members site — members.basisplanobooster.org/members/lunch. You will need to be logged in as a member.

Thank you for your partnership, your understanding, and your dedication to keeping our campus safe and secure for every student, every day.
