Why we raised it
Texas days get hot. A new playground shade structure gives our students a cooler, more comfortable place to play, with added protection from the sun and harmful UV rays.
And it isn’t just a benefit for one school year — it’s an investment our children can enjoy year after year, throughout their time at our school.

What we asked of families
Investing in our school community
As a tuition-free public charter school, our children benefit from a rigorous, high-quality education without the cost of private-school tuition.
By coming together as families, we can help provide the extras that enhance our children’s school experience beyond the classroom.
A project just for our kids
Families were asked to budget separately for the Annual Teacher Fund and this playground shade project.
It was an additional request, not meant to replace or reduce anyone’s support of the ATF.
Families were encouraged to give $100 or more if they were able. Larger gifts helped reach the goal faster, and donations of any amount were appreciated.
Families and community supporters able to make a larger gift were invited to help reach the goal faster. Permanent donor recognition was being considered for major contributors.
Thank you for giving our kids some shade
See it alongside every other fundraiser, drive and bit of giving this year.
